Что такое WoW RP

WoW RP (по-русски часто пишут «вов рп») — это ролевая игра в мире World of Warcraft. Игрок придумывает персонажа — с именем, прошлым, характером и целями — и дальше говорит и действует от его лица, а не от своего. Бой, торговля, разговор в таверне, клятва на площади — всё это часть одной общей истории.

Ролевой сервер (РП-сервер) — это сервер, где такой способ игры и есть главное правило. Здесь ценят не уровень и снаряжение, а сцены: как персонаж повёл себя, что сказал, что выбрал.

Чем ролевой сервер отличается от обычного

• Отыгрыш вместо гринда. Персонаж растёт от сцен и сессий, а не от убитых кабанов.
• Имена по миру. Персонажа зовут так, как могли бы звать жителя Азерота, без мемов и отсылок к нашему миру.
• Ведущие и сессии. Сюжетные события готовят и ведут живые люди, а не скрипты.
• Правила честной игры. Персонаж знает только то, что узнал в игре, и нельзя решать за другого, чем кончилось твоё действие над ним.

Отыгрыш

Игра от лица персонажа: его слова, поступки, реакции.

РП и НРП

РП — всё, что происходит в роли. НРП — разговор игроков вне роли; его обычно берут в двойные скобки: ((так)).

Эмоут

Описание действия персонажа в чате: «поправляет плащ и оглядывается».

Квента

Предыстория персонажа: откуда он, что пережил, чего хочет.

Ведущий

Игрок, который готовит сюжет и ведёт сессию, разыгрывает противников и мир.

Сессия

Сюжетное событие с ведущим, на которое собираются игроки. Ещё говорят «ивент».

Метагейм

Когда персонаж использует то, что знает игрок, но не он сам. Запрещено.

Пауэргейм

Когда игрок решает за чужого персонажа, чем кончилось действие над ним. Запрещено.

Бросок

Проверка кубиком. На Squalor RP это d20 с модификатором характеристики и рангом умения.

Характеристики, умения, ступень и путь героя. На Squalor RP открывается клавишей C.

Как говорить и действовать в игре

В World of Warcraft для отыгрыша хватает стандартных команд чата:

• /s — сказать вслух тем, кто рядом.
• /y — крикнуть, слышно дальше.
• /e — действие персонажа: /e поднимает кружку и кивает страже.
• /w Имя — шёпот одному игроку; часто используют для НРП-вопросов.

На Squalor RP действие можно подкрепить анимацией из панели анимаций, эффектом или броском кубика, а описание места — надписью сцены прямо в мире.

Как начать играть на Squalor RP

• Зайди в Discord. Там анонсы сессий, ведущие и игроки. Открыть Discord.
• Создай аккаунт кнопкой «Создать аккаунт» вверху страницы. Почта станет логином для входа в игру.
• Поставь игру через лаунчер. Он скачает клиент World of Warcraft Midnight 12.0.1, положит аддон и пропишет адрес сервера. Лаунчер скоро появится на сайте.
• Собери героя. Выбери предысторию, распредели характеристики и приходи на ближайшую сессию.

Перед первой сценой прочитай правила сервера: они короткие и в основном о честной игре.

Пять советов новичку

• Начни с простого персонажа. Солдат, травница, подмастерье — у простых людей в Азероте больше всего историй.
• Не бойся спрашивать. Вопрос в НРП или ведущему в личку — нормальная часть игры.
• Давай другим место в сцене. Хороший отыгрыш — это разговор, а не монолог.
• Принимай бросок. Провал часто даёт истории больше, чем успех.
• Ходи на сессии. Именно за них ведущие дают очки событий, которые открывают следующие ступени героя.

What WoW RP is

WoW RP is roleplay in the World of Warcraft setting. A player creates a character — with a name, a past, a temper and goals — and then speaks and acts as that character, not as themselves. A fight, a trade, a talk in a tavern, an oath on the square — all of it is part of one shared story.

A roleplay server (RP server) is a server where this way of playing is the main rule. What matters here is not level and gear but scenes: how the character behaved, what they said, what they chose.

How a roleplay server differs from a normal one

• Roleplay instead of grinding. A character grows through scenes and sessions, not through slain boars.
• Names that fit the world. A character is named like someone who could live in Azeroth, without memes or real-world references.
• Game masters and sessions. Story events are prepared and run by real people, not scripts.
• Fair-play rules. A character only knows what they learned in game, and you may not decide for someone else how your action against them ends.

Roleplay glossary

You will hear these words on your very first evening.

Roleplay

Playing as your character: their words, deeds and reactions.

IC and OOC

In character and out of character. OOC talk is usually wrapped in double brackets: ((like this)).

Emote

A description of your character’s action in chat: “adjusts the cloak and looks around”.

Backstory

Your character’s past: where they come from, what they lived through, what they want.

Game master

A player who prepares the story, runs the session and plays the enemies and the world.

Session

A story event with a game master that players gather for. Also called an “event”.

Metagaming

When a character uses what the player knows but the character does not. Forbidden.

Powergaming

When a player decides for someone else’s character how an action against them ends. Forbidden.

Roll

A dice check. On Squalor RP it is a d20 plus the attribute modifier and skill rank.

Character sheet

Attributes, skills, tier and hero path. On Squalor RP it opens with C.

How to speak and act in game

World of Warcraft’s standard chat commands are enough for roleplay:

• /s — say out loud to those nearby.
• /y — yell, heard further away.
• /e — your character’s action: /e raises the mug and nods to the guards.
• /w Name — whisper to one player; often used for OOC questions.

On Squalor RP you can back up an action with an animation from the animation panel, an effect or a dice roll, and describe a place with a scene inscription right in the world.

How to start playing on Squalor RP

• Join Discord. Session announcements, game masters and players are there. Open Discord.
• Create an account with the “Create account” button at the top of the page. Your email becomes your game login.
• Install the game with the launcher. It downloads the World of Warcraft Midnight 12.0.1 client, adds the addon and sets the server address. The launcher is coming to the website soon.
• Build your hero. Pick a background, assign your attributes and come to the next session.

Before your first scene, read the server rules: they are short and mostly about fair play.

Five tips for newcomers

• Start with a simple character. A soldier, a herbalist, an apprentice — ordinary people in Azeroth have the most stories.
• Do not be afraid to ask. An OOC question or a private message to a game master is a normal part of the game.
• Leave room for others in a scene. Good roleplay is a conversation, not a monologue.
• Accept the roll. A failure often gives the story more than a success.
• Come to sessions. That is where game masters award the event points that open your hero’s next tiers.
